Hi, I’m Mandeep.

I’m the cofounder / CTO at Pump Up - we’re building cloud-based agents that understand and collaborate with your company to automate repeated business processes. We started in London, but moved out to the SF Bay Area around two years ago.

This is my third startup, all as a cofounder, and all in the dev-tooling space. Prior to Pump Up I built Datapane, an open-source Python framework for turning Jupyter analyses into reports and data apps. And before that, NStack, a cloud-first streaming workflow DSL for data scientists in Haskell. Earlier still I did a DPhil at Oxford, building a programming language and compiler for the high performance simulation of cellular biological systems.

I write about building agentic systems, the Java AI stack, and notes and stories from our previous startups. Expect a longer piece every month, and shorter thoughts in between.

Outside of work, I’m a husband and dad of two, a keen boxer, and an ex-DJ and record producer. Originally from London, slowly getting used to life in Marin.
